The MDU offers medical professionals expert medico-legal advice from our 24-hour helpline. Members can be under great strain when they call us, so it’s vital the person they speak to is trained to give them the right advice, as well as reassuring them personally.

The MDU is the only medical defence organisation to achieve the Princess Royal Training Award, which recognises organisations’ commitment to high quality training and skills development.

Learn and develop with the MDU

We offer courses to help mitigate risk, strengthen non-clinical skills and top up their CPD. Our courses are delivered by experienced doctors and specialists in healthcare professional development, and are available to members and non-members. We also offer a series of free hospital based seminars delivered by our dedicated liaison team.
