The Council of the Pharmaceutical Society Northern Ireland has published its Corporate Strategy 2017 – 2022.
The Corporate Strategy sets out the council’s vision of being recognised and trusted as a leader for modern and effective healthcare regulation with a key role in ensuring that pharmacy services are safe and meet high standards. The strategy also sets out the council’s mission, along with six key objectives and related goals for the five-year period.
Speaking about the publication of the Corporate Strategy, Dr Jim Livingstone, President of the council, said, ‘We have worked hard to deliver a challenging and forward-thinking Corporate Strategy, which places public safety at the heart of everything we do as a regulator. Healthcare in Northern Ireland is changing and pharmacy is set to play a key role in those changes, so it is vital that the strategy focuses on our ability to allow for innovation in pharmacy services and wider healthcare provision, whilst maintaining our core focus on protecting patients and the public – in short we must be effective and agile in all that we do and we are confident the Corporate Strategy reflects this and will help us deliver modern and effective healthcare regulation in Northern Ireland.’
